Chess DNA Features
Five features. One goal: turn every chess game into progress.
1. AI Pattern Detection
Find Patterns. Fix Weaknesses.
Chess DNA reads every move in every game you import and groups your recurring mistakes into named patterns. The AI tells you which pattern is costing you the most rating, so you always know what to fix first.
Some of the patterns Chess DNA surfaces:
- TACTICS Missed Tactic — the tactical shot you didn't see.
- TACTICS Missed Pin — pins that were on the board but you missed.
- TACTICS Missed Fork — forks you walked past or set yourself up for.
- TACTICS Missed Skewer — linear attacks that decide middlegames and endgames.
- TACTICS Missed Mate — Mate-in-1 through Mate-in-5 you didn't play.
- TACTICS Trapped Piece — pieces (yours or theirs) caught with no escape squares.
- TACTICS Discovered Attack — moves that uncover a second attacker.
- TACTICS Hanging Pieces — leaving material undefended.
- TACTICS Back Rank Weakness — the king with no luft.
- DEFENSE King Safety — exposed king, weakened shelter, attack pressure.
- ENDGAME Endgame Technique — winning positions you didn't convert.
- ENDGAME Endgame Pawn Play — passed pawns, opposition, breakthroughs.
- OPENING Opening Inaccuracy — early-game mistakes that cost tempo or structure.
- POSITIONAL Positional Error — long-term planning slips.
- POSITIONAL Piece Activity — passive pieces, lost coordination.
- POSITIONAL Pawn Structure — doubled, isolated, backward, weak chains.
- POSITIONAL Space Control — central squares, outposts, cramped positions.
- TIME Time Pressure Blunder — mistakes driven by the clock.
Chess DNA also tags positive patterns when you play them — Brilliant Sacrifices, Promotions, Critical Defensive Resources — so your strengths show up too, not just your mistakes.
2. Replays
Replay. Learn. Get Better.
Every position where you went wrong is queued up for replay. You see the position, choose your move, and Chess DNA tells you whether it works. Hints, skips, and the engine's recommendation are all one tap away.
Replays are grouped by pattern, so you can tackle your worst weakness first, see your accuracy climb, and stop making the same mistake in new games.
3. Instant Game Analysis
Clear explanations, key moments, patterns you can act on.
Every game gets an analysis you can actually read. Chess DNA explains what your move did, why the engine prefers something else, and which pattern this mistake fits into.
Stats, Key Moments, and Pattern tags are all in one view. A 5-minute review actually teaches you something — not just centipawn numbers.
4. 8-Dimension Skill Radar
Track every part of your game and build a complete profile.
Chess DNA scores you across eight skill dimensions that cover every part of the game:
- Openings · Tactics · Defense · Positional
- Endgame · Calculation · Time Management · Resilience
Each dimension scores 0–99 and maps to a rank tier — Pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen, or King. Your overall score becomes an ELO and a percentile across the Chess DNA player base.
5. Your Chess DNA Card
Share what makes your chess yours.
Your Skill Radar, ELO, percentile, rank tier, and worst patterns all live on a single shareable card. Post it, send it to friends, or use it to track your progress over months.
